1. What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a special URL that lets a company know we referred you. If you purchase through one, the company pays Italopedia a commission. You pay exactly the same price as if you went directly.
2. How we use affiliate links
Italopedia uses affiliate links sparingly, with the following rules:
- We only link to products and services we have personally used or that we would recommend without the affiliate relationship.
- Affiliate boxes are clearly labelled "Recommended" or "Sponsored" — never disguised as editorial.
- Editorial content (articles) is unaffected by commercial relationships. We refuse paid placement and editorial coverage decisions are made independent of affiliate considerations.
- We refuse affiliate relationships with any product we would not recommend on the merits.

- Wise (formerly TransferWise) — international money transfers
- Idealista — Italian property search
- Italki / Preply — Italian language tutoring
- Amazon Associates — book recommendations only
The list is updated quarterly. If we add a partner, it is disclosed here within 30 days.
4. What affiliates do not buy
- Coverage in editorial articles
- Mention by name in reviews unless we would mention them anyway
- Favorable comparisons
- Suppression of unfavorable comparisons
If Cigna ever gets worse than AXA, we will say so — affiliate relationship or not.

For US readers: in accordance with FTC guidelines, this constitutes our affiliate disclosure. Italopedia is a participant in affiliate programs and receives compensation for purchases made through affiliate links.
